How to Make Paneer Tikka

The very perfect Vegeterian alternative to Chicken Tikka and other meat Item is Paneer Tikka, Which is usually prepared from the Chunks of Paneer marinated in various kinds of spices and grilled in a tandoor. Following steps will help you in how to prepare Paneer Tikka at your home:


(A) INGREDIENTS:


FOR PANEER TIKKA:

200 gm cubed paneer
2 pinch salt
1 inch ginger
1 teaspoon pureed cashews
1 tablespoon gram flour (besan)
1/2 cup yoghurt (curd)
1 teaspoon poppy seeds
6 peppercorns
1/8 teaspoon edible food color
1/2 cup chopped onion
6 pieces garlic
1 cup tomato puree
3 tablespoon refined oil
1 tablespoon cumin seeds

6 red chilli


FOR MARINATION:

1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic
1/2 teaspoon chaat masala

FOR GARNISH:

1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
1/4 cup fresh cream


(B) DIRECTIONS:


  • Step 1
    To prepare this paneer recipe, the very first step is to prepare the Paneer Tikka and for that, prepare a marination mixture by mixing the ginger paste, garlic paste, chat masala, lime juice, cumin powder and salt together. Let it rest for a minute and coat the cubed paneer with it and let it marinade for about 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
    At 200 degree centigrade, bake the marinated paneer pieces for 10 minutes. Paneer Tikka is prepared and you can keep it aside in a bowl.
  • Step 3
    Now, to prepare the gravy, heat 2 tablespoon oil and fry the onion till they turn brown and translucent. While the onions are done, let it cool. Grind them well and keep them aside. Then mix ginger, garlic, cashew nuts, cumin, poppy seeds, dry red chillies and peppercorn in the grinder and grind them all finely.
  • Step 4
    Take a pan and on low-medium flame, heat 4 tablespoon of oil and stir-fry the finely grinded mixture till it turns brown, and then add gram flour. Roast the flour for a minute and then add the curd and cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Now, add the tomato puree and cook till the puree dries. Then add 3 cups of hot water and a pinch of tandoori edible food colour. Mix them all together and let the gravy cook for about 2-4 minutes. When it's cooked, simmer it for another minute, and slow the flame.
  • Step 6
    For preparing the Paneer Tikka Masala, add the baked paneer tikka in the gravy and cook it till 2 cups of the gravy remains.
  • Step 7
    When your paneer dish is cooked, switch off the burner. Empty this sumptuous dish into a large serving bowl, and garnish it with coriander leaves and cream. And serve this rich creamy recipe with roti/naan and rice.
